
Colts Neck Occupational Therapy Services, LLC provides services that include screening, evaluation, individual and/or group therapy, consultation, education and training. We are also involved in the planning and delivery of comprehensive programs.
Therapeutic Listening Program®
Uses sound based intervention to assist with the sensory integration process. An open headphone system allows your child to participate in occupational therapy while participating in the Therapeutic Listening Program®. We offer a lending library which includes all the equipment needed and a varied modulated CD collection.
Interactive Metronome®
Interactive Metronome® is a brain-based rehabilitation assessment and training program developed to directly improve the processing abilities that affect attention, motor planning, and sequencing which in turn strengthens motor skills, including mobility and gross motor skills, and many fundamental capacities such as planning, organizing, and language. Those who have benefited from IM include children with Sensory Integration Disorder, Asperger Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, and Cerebral Palsy.
Large Sensory Gym
Suspended equipment including platform swing, tube swing, sling swing, bolster swing, moon swing, net climber, and trapeze bar.
Small Sensory Room
Various tactile based materials are provided for exploration such as rice bin, sand bin, bean bin, snow bin, etc. Comfortable bean bag chairs for organizing deep pressure input. Visual input is available through an assortment of lava lamps, glow in the dark items, plus other stimuli.
Sensory Diet Development and Monitoring
Using the Sensory Profile® questionnaire and other sensory checklists your therapist will develop a list of sensory diet activities to be performed at home or school in order to give small "sensory snacks" throughout the day to help keep the sensory system calm and organized.
Groups
Run by certified occupational therapists these groups follow the Handwriting Without Tears program to learn capital, lowercase, and cursive writing through a fun interactive approach. Contact CNOTS for dates and times.
Wilbarger Deep Pressure Protocol
Using a surgical scrub brush your therapist will perform and train the caregiver on how to properly brush the child in order to decrease tactile defensiveness.
